This weekend Stargate fans have a choice of two Stargate Conventions to attend! Creation Entertainment is hosting an Official Stargate Convention in Chicago, and Gatecon takes place in Vancouver.
The Official Chicago Stargate Convention is weekend by Creation Entertainment, and takes place August 22-24th.
In attendance for the weekend festivities are David Nykl ("Radek Zelenka") and Chuck Campbell from Stargate Atlantis as well as Michael Shanks ("Daniel Jackson"), Alexis Cruz ("Skaara") and Tony Amendola ("Bra’tac") from Stargate SG-1. Also attending in a rare convention appearance, and his first Stargate-based event, is actor Ben Browder ("Cameron Mitchell") who will appear on Sunday.
As always, this Creation convention will be loaded with activities, from Q&A sessions with all the attending cast members to music video and costume contests, a Friday evening "cabaret", a charity breakfast, and more! Attendees will also get the chance to see this week’s latest all-new (and highly anticipated) Atlantis episode, "The Shrine," prior to its airing on the SCI FI channel in the United States.

Also this weekend in Vancouver B.C. is Gatecon August 21-24th.
Guests scheduled to appear at this year’s event include Corin Nemec ("Jonas Quinn"), Cliff Simon ("Baal"), Gary Jones ("Sergeant Walter Harriman"), Colin Cunningham ("Major Paul Davis") and a host of others.
The convention also welcomes newcomer Richard Dean Anderson ("General Jack O’Neill") to this year’s festivities. Anderson’s public appearances have been strictly limited in the past, so his attendance at this event is a huge treat for fans.
