After a little break we’re back again to present you the twentysixth (?) Tutorial of the Week. This time it’s in the mid of the week and again we have 3 usefull new tutorials for you.
How to: Make a custom skybox (with photoshpo cs2+ nvidia dds plugin) (by crying Farcryer)
Content: document
The CryEngine default skybox is great but maybe you want to have something more custom like distance terrain, buildings or something else. No problem thanks to crying Farcryer and his skybox tutorial that shows how to get your skybox textures useable in the cryengine. If you want to know how to create new Skybox textures you can use this Tutorial by cwright.
Environment Design tutorial (by Benjamin Thatcher (ben72227))
Content: document
I personally like to make maps and you probably too, but the problem is when i make a level i build it, then change here and there and then there and this and so on because i just think it looks better, but i end up building and wasting time. Is this ever happened to you? Then you may find this Tutorial usefull. It is a workflow Tutorial that shows you the built of a small urban scene from texturing to lighning in a short and clear way.
Crysis Wars, custom maps and autodownloader (by ---___db___---)
Content: document
The Crysis multiplayer was fun, yeah but let’s be honest Crysis Wars is just some different league. One thing where Crytek has listened to their customers again was the built in AutoDownloader. But as Wars and Wrhead are just out a few days and the SDK is still a long journey away from us we all desperately wanted to know how to use it and how to make Warhead maps with the SB. Not anymore. Now we have db’s walkthrough tutorial that will show you how to structure, prepare, optimize and compress your levels for use with the AutoDownload function.
If you have made some tutorials or know things that others might find usefull please feel free to post it into the Tutorial Section.
We will then review your tutorial and if it’s appropriate, usefull and if this specific aspect of modding hasn’t been covered allready in one of our tutorials we will then add it to the Community Tutorials.
