Yesterday, Spoonguard released the 4th beta of his RConnect Tool, which is a tool that helps to simplify the task of administrating your multiplayer server by providing a simple, easy-to-use interface. It works with the "Create Game Server" option inside Crysis and the Crysis Dedicated Server.

Introduction

quote:

Rconnect is a server management tool, which works with the "Create Game Server" and Dedicated Server which comes with Crysis. It helps you administer your server by an easy-to-use interface, and one touch buttons for kicking and banning.

It constantly monitors your server either over the internet or local network. In-game chat is recorded, as well as user connections, naming, disconnects, map changes, and round changes.

Rconnect can also send automatic server messages to all players, kick for spoofed credentials including illegal names, slow connections, and has a configurable anti-lag (high ping) kicker. It also provides multi-admin support for clans or servers with more than one admin.

If you install Rconnect to the server itself, it can provide crash monitoring and restarting.

A full ban system has been implemented in Rconnect v2.0, it can ban by IP, domain, Username and Crysis/Gamespy user profile ID. Each ban can be set to match all criteria, or any individual item. A per ban timeout can be set, so after a day, week or month the user can connect again.

Features
This current version includes following features that are listed below.

  • One touch kicking & banning - select and kick/ban
  • Multi-admin support. Many admins can remote control a Crysis server
  • Full Ban System, ban by IP, domain, username, and profile ID. Optional timeouts
  • Domain and IP spoofing auto-kicks
  • Anti-Lag: Instant kick for high ping (configurable value), with Server Lag detection
  • Anti-Crash: restarts the server process, if it quits without warning
  • Slow connection kicks - if someone takes too long to join they are removed
  • Automated server messages
  • Active user monitoring and listing

Singleplayer - New Video from "Induction" Level

Forum member Adius_Omega has released a new WIP Cutscene Video of the opening cutscene from his new singleplayer map called Induction. He also provides the community with quite a few work-in-progress level screenshots which are definitely worth a look.

WIP Video
This spectacular video begins with an alien knocking Nomad off his feet. Nomad then decides to get some payback by throwing an alien into the distance, where it explodes. The visuals in this cutscene are absolutely beautiful. Have a look.
