After experimenting with the particle editor, nova- has created something quite interesting for the community - a new Airstrike particle effect. This asset was designed to eliminate the need for using multiple particle emitters to achieve the same effect. This new particle allows you to create some wild airstrike effects with a single emitter.

So what does this particle do?

The new particle effect creates a series of random explosions, whose frequency, size, and randomness can be changed inside the particle editor. For example, you can create a nice series of random airstrikes by raising the Lifetime setting, or lowering this setting creates a cluster bomb effect. Also, changing the Random Offset setting will cause the particles to spawn over a larger distance.

Each explosion will spawn a realistic smoke trail that has a moderate lifetime, so if you have a low-spec machine, it might slow your game down a little.

Previews
Nova has released a couple videos showing the new asset in action. In this video, he creates a realistic airstrike effect.
