One of the 3 cornerstones of GRID is City Racing- exciting wheel-to-wheel battles between unforgiving barriers.
There can’t be a racer out there who hasn’t got, in their head, a street racing layout around their home town, or somewhere they’ve visited. One member of the Codemasters Community team, who shall remain nameless, drew out a demanding circuit round the streets of La Rochelle in a year-8 French Textbook.
That’s what we’re asking you for, not the scrawling in school property, rather your dream street circuit – it doesn’t have to be in a world-famous city, it can be your home town or anywhere, but what we want is to be shown round your circuit- tell us why you think it would be good for racing- how the roundabout just outside the supermarket has a great camber transition, how the road out of the village has a long multi-apex corner.
So how do you show us your ideas? Well- that’s up to you. You could make a video of you driving round the circuit for real (where legal, obviously. And not at race speed, even more obviously!). You could map it out using Google Earth or a similar application, or even just walk round and take photos. Ultimately, what we want to know is what your track would look like, and why it would be cool to hold a race there.
The Winning entry will be judged by the Codemasters Community team, and the winner announced by August 1st.
And the prize? Well, considering the full-contact nature of racing on city streets, the most appropriate prize we could think of was a Special Edition version of GRID, signed by the Studio. We have 3 to give away!!!
Good luck!!
