New Mapping Resource! A new site for helping the map making community at large has emerged, and you can call it the Mapper’s Database. Started and maintained by Marko, a long respected level creator in our community, the new site already offers tutorials, maps, prefabs and more, so put this one into your favourites and hit it often!

Q3 Quality Booster Shot! There were plenty of fans for the earlier version of this mod, and now the new High Quality Quake Mod v2.5 for Quake 3 is here to take kick things up a notch or two! Bringing more detail is only the beginning for this mod, and you can check out the list of recent changes below as well as some new pics to get a feel for what you’ll get in your game! New Frag Flick! If you like to watch frags as much as you like to get them, then you’ll want to check out the latest Q3 frag flick, Griffin, That’s What I’m Sayin’! With some nice frags, HD quality and a runtime of just over 4 minutes, it’s worth checking out over at ESReality!

Hey Look... QuakeScopes! Holy stuff on a stick Batman, I can’t believe I forgot to post the PQ QuakeScopes until now! I’m sorry about that gang, and there’s not much of the week left that’s covered by the latest edition, but a few days late is better than never, right?
New Dusk Mod Release! Those nasty Strogg are back in force with the newest version of the Dusk Mod (Alpha 7) for ET: QUAKE Wars!
Meet BioPad: QuakeWars We get a fresh peek at a newly skinned head model and character for the World of Padman with the introduction of the new BioPad! You can check out his tale and a bit of video on the new model over at the World of Padman, and get ready to see this guy when the next version of this free, stand-alone Q3 powered shooter is released!

You’ve Been Polled! Just in case you didn’t notice yesterday, I put up a new PQ Poll over there on the right hand side of the PQ main page. In connection to our 12th birthday here as PQ, I wanted to see when people became Quake fans. So far the old dawgs are in the majority, but I guess we’ll see how it all works out after a couple weeks. So don’t waste a minute and tell us just how long you’ve had Quad in your blood with the latest PQ Poll!
Advertising in Games Everyone has opinions on the “ads in games” topic and you’ll find the latest in the Tampax Meets QUAKE Live at GameRiot article. They basically look at how far this could all go in damaging the games they’re using to display ads, and QUAKE Live is used as an example since it’s probably the most high profile game going this route. Bring your own salt.
Destruction is Good! It’s not often we get a new single player Quake 4 level, but there’s one waiting over at Map Factory for you right now called Use Destruction! I’ve not had a chance to play it yet (right after I do all the news I sure will though!) but it looks pretty well done and shows outside portions and squad activity in the available shots. Check it and get it trooper, the Strogg are waiting! (Thanks Raven Games)
Steam Client Update Available An update for the Steam client has been released today. The changelog is as follows:
QW: id Talks Shop In a new interview at 1up, id Software’s Tim Willits and Todd Hollenshead go into some details on the new, and bigger id as well as how the new titles like Rage, Wolfenstein and DOOM and Quake Live are being developed. It’s three pages of interesting bits covering new publishing deals, Rage and electronic distribution, the Rage plot line and much more!
QW: The Unfriendly Skies Fly-boys (and girls) will want to get their hands on the first Aplha release of the ET: QW Dog Fighting Mod released on the Official ET: QW Community Forum! The mod brings aerial combat into focus with features that put you in the sky for some serious air battles. It’s still in the early stages and changes will come, but there’s fun to be had right now, so check it out!
New Tanks and Rogues! The newest teamplay mod for Quake 3, Tanks and Rogues has another update ready to roll with the new version 1.14.13 today. The new build brings some small fixes and bug squashing, and even more is planned for the project.
